RSD Black Friday Releases Announced For Nov. 27

After three straight months of “drops,” Record Store Day Black Friday is set to return Nov. 27.

The full list of releases was announced this week. The Rolling Stones, U2, Beastie Boys, Lou Reed, My Chemical Romance and Public Enemy are among those set for special RSD Black Friday releases.

This year’s RSD Black Friday will feature 134 exclusive titles. That is down from the 183 limited releases featured in 2019.

Coming into this year, RSD Black Friday had gone three straight years of showcasing an increased list of exclusive titles. During the same period, the traditional Record Store Day event in the spring had seen a reduction in titles each year.

Of course, 2020 has been far from a typical year for any of us (thanks, COVID). Record Store Day 2020 was initially set for April 18 before being rescheduled for June 10 as concern increased due to the pandemic.

The June 10 date was eventually nixed in favor of three RSD Drops on Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24.
