Record Store Day Special Releases Decrease While Black Friday RSD List Increases

Expect to see more special releases during Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on Nov. 29.

According to RecordStoreDay.com, 183 special releases are slated to find their way to independent store shelves on Black Friday. This is up from 157 special releases on the biggest shopping day of the year in 2018.

This marks the third straight year for more RSD Black Friday titles. Record Store Day’s Black Friday event debuted in 2010.

In April, there were actually less special releases on the proper Record Store Day compared to the previous year. Record Store Day 2019 featured 401 releases, slightly down from the 418 that were out on that day in 2018.

The first official Record Store Day was held in 2008.

Record Store Day’s 2019 Black Friday event will feature limited and exclusive releases from Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney, U2, Phish and many others.
