FAQ

What is Yeah No Great?

Yeah No Great is a resource for vinyl record collectors and music lovers in the Midwest. Of course, those from outside the Midwest are welcome, too. We’re friendly in these parts.

What’s the deal with the name?

“Yeah No” is a regional phrase mostly claimed by those in the Midwest. Other regions take ownership of it as well, but the Midwest paints it with the most pride. Did you get a new car? Yeah, no I’ve had it for a few months now. The “Great” is a nod to the Great Plains and the Great Lakes.

Why focus on on the Midwest?

Yeah No Great is manned by a staff of one (sometimes a staff of two if Benny the beagle is in the office) out of Bloomington, Illinois. Building a brand concentrating on one area of the U.S. seemed to be easiest route with only one person creating content. That could certainly change down the road. There also might be occasional features from outside the Midwest when the itch to travel needs to be scratched.

Who is the person behind Yeah No Great?

Glad you asked. My name is Rob Carroll. I grew up listening to albums on vinyl and decided to dive back into that world in recent years. For me, little compares to a quiet afternoon thumbing through crates of records in a store. But why do it alone? I created this website to note only share my journeys and favorite albums, but also to connect with others looking to do the same.

Who is your favorite Star Wars character?

Boba Fett comes in first. After that, it is a tight race between Lando, Chewbacca, Han and Greedo.

You seem pretty cool. The Star Wars thing is a little random, but I wouldn’t mind reaching out to get in contact with you. How can I email you?

Email is best. Reach out at YeahNoGreat@gmail.com. You also can send a message through the Yeah No Great Facebook page.
