Illinois Record Store Reopens to Public, Donates Profits to NAACP

As COVID-19 risks decrease and record stores across the U.S. continue to carefully reopen, Waiting Room Records is giving back while welcoming back their customers.

Located at 113 West North Street in Normal, Illinois, Waiting Room Records will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m June 8. But the day will not just be about having foot traffic back in the store.

A video on the Waiting Room Records Facebook page last week announced the store would donate all profits made on June 8 to the Bloomington-Normal branch of NAACP.

The video also outlines safety precautions customers can expect when returning to the store.

  • Capacity will be four customers in the store at one time.
  • Customers must bring and wear a mask
  • Gloves will be provided to customers when they enter and should be removed upon exit.

Waiting Room Records specializes in both new and used music. The store is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
