Help Cactus Records As They Prepare For Move To New Bozeman Location

Cactus Records and Gifts, a downtown Bozeman staple for vinyl collectors, is in the process of moving to a new location and could use your help.

A GoFundMe has been opened to assist paying Cactus employees during the move. According to the campaign’s page, store owners estimate it will take nearly a month to transition to the new location.

Cactus Records and Gifts first opened in 1970. They have been located in the heart of downtown Bozeman, 29 West Main Street, for the past 35 years.

According to the GoFundMe page, the Cactus’s landlord decided to sell the downtown building “for a price well beyond our means”

The store temporarily closed Feb. 6 to prepare for the move to a new location at 2742 West Main Street.

If you’ve been to Cactus Records and Gifts, you already know that moving the store’s vast inventory will be quite the chore. Vinyl, comic books, VHS tapes, toys, and various oddities lined the upstairs and downstairs walls.

If you’ve got some extra cash since your favorite record store is temporarily closed, think about helping out the Cactus crew who are busy bringing the “weirdo store” back to life at its new location.
