Limited Edition LP Celebrates 100 Years of Minnesota Record Stores

Minnesota’s Down In The Valley and Electric Fetus are celebrating a combined 100 years of business this year, and a band from their home state is honoring the occasion with a special release.

Duluth-based bluegrass/folk rock outfit Trampled By Turtles have released “Sigourney Fever,” a limited edition LP of cover songs that is only available at both stores.

Down In The Valley has locations in Minneapolis, Crystal and Maple Grove. You also can find Electric Fetus in Minneapolis. A second location also is open in downtown Duluth.

“Sigourney Fever” features Trampled By Turtles’s take on songs such as Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” and Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart.” The b-side of the album features an animated etching.

This is a one-time pressing of only 1,000 copies, so maybe don’t wait to get this one. Plus, you are helping two fantastic Minnesota record stores.

Order the album from Down In The Valley here and from Electric Fetus here.
