Chicago’s WXRT Bringing Back All Vinyl Day March 12

Legendary Chicago rock station WXRT is going all vinyl for one day on March 12.

Not only will the radio station just play vinyl records that day, but they also plan to play entire album sides.

“Join XRT this Thursday for another All Vinyl Day as we play music the way it was meant to be heard. On wax,” the station announced to listeners on its website.

All Vinyl Day has been a recurring promotion for the station. Their most recent All Vinyl Day kicked off last Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 27.

The previous All Vinyl Day included full album sides from rock mainstays such as the The Beatles, Elton John and Led Zeppelin along with a few more recent artists such as Death Cab For Cutie and Green Day. Check out a complete list of albums played that day here.

WXRT DJs Lin Brehmer and Marty Lennartz to took Facebook on Tuesday to show off the station’s turntables in preparation for All Vinyl Day.

All Vinyl Day kicks off at 5:30 a.m. on March 12. Listen live here.
