Midwest Record Stores, Living Rooms Needed For Hum Singer’s Upcoming Tour

Got some empty space in your house that would be perfect for an intimate performance in front of a small collection of music fans?

Matt Talbott would like to talk to you.

Talbott, frontman for Illinois based alt-rockers Hum, is embarking on a tour in April and May. The stops will be at record stores, living rooms, basements, coffee shops and anywhere else that applies and is accepted to host a show.

The tour is being organized through Undertow, a group that works with artists to “create a friendly and productive environment for these people to make music while keeping their integrity and artistic vision intact.”

According to a post on Undertow’s website, Talbott’s shows will be for 40-60 people. Tickets will be $25 for each tour stop.

Show hosts will be provided five tickets to the show. The venue address will only be provided to those who purchase tickets. In other words, there won’t be a bunch of weirdos crashing your house when the show is promoted online.

Applications to be a host venue are currently being accepted via the Undertow website. Venues are needed for the following dates and cities:

April 15 – Louisville, KY
April 16 – Asheville, NC
April 17 – Charlotte, NC
April 18 – Greensboro, NC
April 19 – Raleigh, NC
April 21 – Savannah, GA
April 22 – Jacksonville, FL
April 23 – Orlando, FL

April 26 – Tallahassee, FL
April 28 – Atlanta GA
April 29 – Chattanooga / Knoxville TN

And if you would like to see Talbott before one of these dates, stop by his bar, Loose Cobra, in Tolono, IL. Talbott frequently updates the bar’s Facebook page about when he is there bartending and dipping into the Loose Cobra vinyl selection.
